Nevertheless, nice move---now she just has to dump the the female/nanny state message- but doubt she'll do that.
2010: GOVERNOR STEP DOWN AND FIGHT
For the reasons set forth in "You Can Never Go Home Again" (11-12-08), the anticipated Establishment war against Governor Sarah Palin is now well underway. Since this war was foreseeable, it should be no cause for alarm in the Palin camp- but here we discuss a potential counter strategy.
Last weekend, the Governor attempted to raise her national profile by attending the Alfalfa Dinner; and immediately thereafter, her ready adversaries countered by distorting her position on the Stimulus Bill, and attacking her on her conservation efforts. The latter attack was fronted by "eyeonpalin.org."- an alleged conservation group operating out of Washington.
Her enemies are committed; they will not allow her to get a "leg-up". And based on the events of this week, it should be quite evident to the Governor that, if she does not alter the current logistics, this is a war she cannot win.
For the next 2 years, the national DNC, RNC, Pravda and her Presidential competitors will launch salvo after salvo into Alaska. When and if Governor Palin rises up to counterattack nationally, the Alaskan mercenaries will respond with sniper fire on the State level. She is isolated in Alaska. Her enemies control the field of engagement. Under these conditions, she certainly may successfully defend and survive for two years- but she just can't win.
In this regard, the Palin Camp likely believes that "defense and survival" until 2010-11 is sufficient- that the Governor merely has to win reelection in Fall 2010 to remain a viable and credible Presidential candidate in 2012. That's probably a valid analysis.
But, as a Palin grassroots supporter, I only respectfully offer for consideration the following thought: will she be any less viable and credible presidential candidate if she's not the incumbent Governor of Alaska in 2010? And if she declares soon that she doesn't intend to seek reelection, does she not entirely change the logistics of this unwinnable war?
As to the first conceptual question, my answer is no. In terms of gauging her experience for President, there is absolutely no material difference between having been a successful 4 year State Executive, as opposed to a newly re-elected second term Executive. She does not need to be a sitting Governor in order to be elected President.
As to the second question, if she announces that she will not seek reelection, she completely changes the dynamics of this preemptive war on her national candidacy. Her official responsibilites in Alaska are precisely what have her bunkered down and make her such an easy target. If she eliminates the pressure and constraints of the Alaskan re-election, then the Governor gives herself the maneuverabilty necessary to win the war against her political enemies. She can take command of the battlefield, as follows:
1. For the next 3 years, she will be free to travel outside Alaska , without the concern that she risks her reelection. She can travel the lower 48, she can travel to Europe and the world. She can meet with world leaders. She can network throughout the country. I ask, what will solidify her Presidential resume more- fighting over issues with wingnut Alaskan Democrats on steroids who want to bring her down nationally- or- traveling the world and states; meeting with economists and leaders; talking to individuals and groups in order that she has every bit as much exposure to national issues as does Mr. Obama?
Under this scenario. not only would her enemies be confronted with a moving target- but she would also have the freedom to return fire. Accordingly, the complexion of the war would change completely.
2. Without the pressure of reelection, she can also spend her time writing books, giving speeches, appearing on cable, or even hosting her own PBS show on national current events. Most importantly, by taking this path, she can earn money--in a year, she can earn more than she and Mr. Palin could conceivably earn in the next 30 years. Certainly, no one would want her to mirror the greed of the Clintons. But, as a Presidential candidate, she has to have sufficient personal financial resources in order to secure the peace of mind that she has fulfilled her primary responsibility- the well being and security of her family.
3. Also, as a non-incumbent, she becomes a true outsider. Currently, as Governor, she has to measure every word she says against what is right and proper for her State; However, what might be the right message for her State, may not necessarily be the right message nationally. As a private citizen, the pressure of balancing those competing messages is gone.
4. Additionally, what also goes out with the bath water would be approval numbers, emails, expense reports, troopergate and every other petty detail that the Alaskan turkeys and Pravda attempt to dredge up and escalate into a national scandal. All that low dealing is gone; well, more rightly, rendered moot.
5. Finally, one must ask, does she really want to take a chance on the "circus"?. Can anyone imagine what that re-election campaign will look like? Republicans are favored in Alaska, but they're not a lock. Whatever Democrat runs against the Govenor will be swimming in campaign funds. If they can't beat her, they sure will try to bloody her. In my view, there's no reason to give them the chance. Side step them, and raise the stakes--"I'm not running for re-election, because I cannot guaranty that I would fulfill my term as I am considering the Presidency. My sole concern has always been to serve Alaska, and under the current circumstances, I believe I can better serve my fellow citizens on the national level. "
The above enumerated reasons are certainly not exclusive or comprehensive; nor do they likely take into account what others may see as advantages to having the Governor remain in office.
So, at end point, for the next 2 years, the Governor can wake up each and every morning to the sound of her adviser yelling "Incoming!"-or- she and her family can actually enjoy a 3 year journey to the White House. Talk about the Lord opening doors- this one comes with a red carpet. Money, trips, education, meeting interesting people, seeing the world- and most of all, visiting with the Lower 48 folks who would see her safe and secure on her journey.
And should she fail in her Presidential bid this time around, pffftt- so what? The Governor and her family will have benefitted by financial security, experience and education- and then comes 2014--in which case- that newly elected Alaskan Democrat Senator should enjoy himself now, because his career's on borrowed time.
The alternative, it appears to me, is to be a sitting duck for two years- and trusting a hope that none of these attacks proves to be politically fatal.

NONSENSE!
I don’t know why the United States military decided to fly a back-up of Air Force One trailed by two military jets down the Hudson River. Nor do I know why AF1 did curly-cues around the Statute of Liberty, or more remarkably, the Goldman Sachs Building. But I can tell the reader this— it certainly wasn’t for a photo opportunity. What nonsense. Flying circles around Manhattan skycrapers for a photo? No politician would ever flirt with such potential disaster- at least, not so long as he was up for re-election.
Pravda is reporting that high level municipal officials and the general public were not notified about the purported AF1 photo op because of "security reasons". Security for what, a photo op for a mocked up AF1 and military jets? Can we agree that if security was the concern, this photo op would have been scheduled for a Sunday at dawn- rather than a workday at 10AM?
No, this incursion into New York was a military exercise of some sort- and that was why it remained secret.
Mayor Bloomberg, NJ Governor Corzine and Senator Schumer all claim to be "furious" because they supposedly were not informed of this military exercise in advance. I think they protest too much. The NY and NJ police departments knew and the 911 dispatchers knew- so these conniving politicians knew.
AND, the fact that none of them has demanded an investigation—is all the reader has to know.
Old "three term" Mike summed it up neatly for the masses: "The good news is it was nothing more than an inconsiderate, badly conceived and insensitive photo op with the taxpayers' money," Bloomberg told reporters.
Got it?
This was military- and in order to justify this degree of recklessness, it must have been big.

Although many have dismissed Governor Sarah Palin’s appointment of Justice Morgan Christen to the Alaskan Supreme Court as a minor matter, it is in fact the most significant decision Palin has made relative to her national aspirations thus far. Here, Palin has made a calculated decision to tack to the middle; risking her support among social conservatives in order to garner more support from the center; specifically females.
As to the Christen appointment, Palin supporters argue that the Governor had no choice in making this appointment- and that may well be. But, it seems apparent that, with very little effort, Palin could have insulated herself from any political fallout on this issue. Instead, the Governor chose not to do so. In making the appointment, Palin endorsed Christen enthusiastically. Thus, one has no choice but to accept the true import and implications of that considered choice.
Clearly, the Governor has decided to try to change the perception that she is a religious right conservative. We had an inkling of this shift when she declined CPAC after Rush Limbaugh was announced as a speaker. It appears that Limbaugh perceived that as a rebuke because after having touted Palin as the Party leader as late as January 29th, Limbaugh reversed in February in favor of Jindal. At that time, one might have wondered if Palin was just tactically distancing herself from conservatives- or disowning them. Viewing everything in totality, it appears that Palin is attempting to disown "cultural" conservatives. She wants to be seen as a problem solver, a conciliator; and though personally conservative, she wants to be seen as a consensus builder.
Equally clear is that the Governor has made a decision that her engine to the presidency will be fueled primarily with the support of women. We can see it in Bristol Palin’s statement to the effect that abstinence was not realistic- a statement her mother did not disavow. Here again, one must accept the message the Governor is sending- less emphasis on the unrealistic cultural conservative agenda; more emphasis on the plight of modern women in America.
In this light, I look at the Christen appointment and I see a pantomime. The Governor presumptively controlled 4 of the 7 on this judiciary panel, but nonetheless ended up a choice between a liberal activist judge and a moderate female candidate, Christen. Notably, Christen had made campaign contributions to Democrats and had been a member of Planned Parenthood-but those facts were not intended to be disclosed. And they wouldn’t have been disclosed if it hadn’t been for a guy named Minnery who apparently had some ax to grind against someone. So, Minnery dropped a dime and exposed the failure to disclose the Planned Parenthood association- thereby revealing the orchestrated process that ultimately gave liberals an acceptable judge on the Court and the Governor a female candidate in Cristen.
The evidence plainly shows that the Governor could have remanded the matter to the panel for just cause. Christen had failed to disclose her prior association with Planned Parenthood. On that basis, Palin could have asked the panel to make a determination as to whether or not Christen possessed the requisite integrity required of a Supreme Court Justice.
But, it appears that the Governor wanted to affirm Christen, and she did so without reservation - " [I have] "every confidence that Judge Christen has the experience, intellect, wisdom and character to be an outstanding Supreme Court justice".
Again, the sole point I make here is that this appointment isn’t a minor matter as some suggest-- it represents an intentional shift by Governor Palin away from cultural conservatives in favor of the female vote.
In making this decision, one must assume that the Governor anticipated Iowa 2012, where she and Mike Huckabee will vie for the votes among the socially conservative bowed neck Hawkeyes. There, Huckabee will likely raise the issue of Morgan Christen. But, perhaps worse. What if Christen had made a decision in favor of abortion, gay rights, parental consent or some other relevant social matter?
"Yes, Sarah Palin says she’s a conservative." Huckabee charges, "but do you trust her judgment? She knew that Justice Christen concealed the fact that she was a card carrying member of Planned Parenthood, but Governor Palin didn’t lift a hand to disqualify this lying judge. Governor Palin just rubber-stamped it. Friends, do you want a Morgan Christen on the United States Supreme Court? Can you trust Sarah Palin to make every effort, and I mean every effort, to stop social activism in our judiciary?"
Since such statement by Huckabee is foreseeable, one must assume that the Governor is willing to take the risk of losing social conservatives. However, judicial activism is not only an issue of concern to cultural conservatives; it’s also an issue to many Americans who believe in the Constitution. The Governor must be convinced that any loss in support in these groups will be made up by moderate, centrist women.
The above notwithstanding, I can't help but feel that the Governor failed here to seize a great opportunity to show national leadership. There is obviously a leadership vacuum in the Republican Party, and this situation was her chance to fill the void. She could have taken a principled stand against judicial activism; the activism that has usurped the will of the people, that has brought this nation European socialism, and that has contorted our Constitution in a manner that would make it unrecognizable to the Framers. This issue has a national resonance.
She should have fought- and fought hard. Bill Clinton was adored by Democrats because he fought each and every battle- no matter how big or small. He attacked his attackers; he investigated his investigators; he prosecuted his prosecutors. And he commanded the devotion of Democrats for one reason, and one reason only--he kicked the tar out or Republicans each and every time. Americans are enraged with their roque government- the Governor should have taken up their cause.
Governor Palin has been bunkered down in Alaska, taking hit after hit. She has never retaliated, making her even more an easy target. Here was her chance to engage in a counter-offensive. Here was her chance to show America that she would fight for what she believed- and demonstrate why she had the character to be President.
But evidently, those sharpies who conduct focus groups and polls have convinced the Governor that Americans don't like pit bulls and Barracudas-- they prefer conciliators and consensus builders.
In any event, by having appointed Justice Christen to the Court, the Governor strapped a ticking time bomb to herself. Palin's national standing within Republican circles will be defined by any activist decision made by Christen. Why any politician would place herself in such a vulnerable position is bewildering.
And the most inexplicable aspect of this event is that, even if the Governor did not want a fight on Christen, Palin still could have very easily protected her conservative/reformist credentials and still appointed Christen- if that's what she wished. That is, instead of enthusiastically endorsing Christen, the Governor could have made the appointment-but with express reservations about Christen and the Alaskan selection process. She choose not to do so. Her again, we see Palin's primary purpose was to attract moderate women; appointing Christen "with reservations" would have run counter to that strategy.
Well, what's done is done.

SMALL BALL
Governor Sarah Palin continues to play small ball.
Today, the Governor announced the appointment of Judge Morgan Christen to the Alaskan Supreme Court. The appointment has rankled some conservatives because Christen purportedly was once a member of Planned Parenthood.
Judge Christen and Judge Eric Smith were the two prospective candidates recommended to the Governor by a seven-member panel. According to newspaper accounts, Smith is considered an activist judge; whereas Christen is said to be a moderate. Neither is a strict constructionists,–and therein lies the problem.
Under the Alaskan Constitution, the Governor had to select from the candidates provided by the judiciary panel comprised of three lawyers, three Governor appointees, and the incumbent Supreme Court chief justice. Given the circumstances here, the Governor should have demanded that the panel submit additional candidates.
The Governor is a national figure- she wishes to be President. She presents herself to the nation as a conservative and a reformist. In this regard, the United States judiciary, which routinely oversteps its constitutional authority by legislating from the bench, is in dire need of reform. The Governor cannot make the case that she’s a conservative reformer, if she doesn't make every effort to restore constitutional order by appointing strict constructionists to the Court.
Governor Palin had no choice but to confront the panel; even to the extent of pursuing the matter in the courts. The popular will as represented by the election of a governor should not lay subservient to three lawyers on a selection panel. The Governor may well have failed in contesting the panel- but, the battle nonetheless had to be made. Absent that, the Governor casts herself as unwilling to fight for one of the most, if not the most important issue facing the nation today- the tyranny of the judiciary. And worse, if Justice Christen is the majority vote in any controversial decision, that's Palin's vote.
On the other hand, Judge Christen is a female and a moderate; and if that’s the politics behind Governor Palin’s decision, she’s on the Establishment Path. That’s the wrong path. Females and moderates may applaud this selection, but they won’t see her to the Presidency.

THE POT AND THE KETTLE
The Republicans effort to villify President Barrack Obama as a socialist is as hypocritical as it is counterproductive. Statist Republicans have no standing to inveigh against Democrat socialism, and that fact is the very reason Mr. Obama and the Democrats won in 2008.
Moreover, since Establishment Republicans lack credibilty, people reflexively discount the attacker and credit the target. Thus, Republican hyperbole only serves to reinforce the manufactured delusion of Obama as mythic figure. He is not the Anti-Christ, nor Lenin, nor a Greek God. He is merely what he is- a far left wing, Democrat machine politician who lucked out- nothing more.
It’s happened before. In 1974, an incompetent peanut farmer squeaked into the Presidency over an equally incompetent Establishment Republican because Richard Nixon went to Defcon1 in a paranoid overreaction to a petty theft.
In 1992, after the Soviet Union toppled under the weight of its theoretical fallacy, a draft dodging Governor scored the White House because he fortuitously happened on the scene when a military background was no longer a prerequisite for the Presidency.
In 2008, President Obama won because Americans had a choice between the transparently corrupt and statist Democrats, as against equally corrupt and statist Republicans. The sole difference was that the Republicans fraudulently attempted to convince the nation they were otherwise. At end point, true to their moral heritage, Americans merely choose honesty over deceit.
Based on his recent policy decisions, Mr. Obama appears to be resolved to replicate the one term Mayoralty of New York City Mayor David Dinkins. Dinkins catered to the unions and Democrat special interests groups; resulting in (1) a record loss in private and public sector jobs, (2) tax increases over $1B, (3) a record low investment in the city , (4) high crime, (5) unsanitary streets and, (6) and at one point, an inability to meet the payroll for public employees. Similar to some in this Administration, Dinkins himself was discovered not to have paid taxes for five years, whereupon, he issued his infamous Clintonism: "I haven't committed a crime. What I did was fail to comply with the law."
From the time Dinkins was defeated in 1993, the City has yet to elect another Democrat Mayor.
This site has always held that the 2008 election of leftish Democrats, within this current catastrophic economic crisis, will only serve to demonstrate the unsustainability of the bi-partisan welfare state foisted on America these past 50 years. In this regard, the Democrats are not the problem- they're predictable. The Establishment Republicans are the problem. .
To those of us who solely want a reasonably honest government—Republican ascendance based on Democrat failure is no victory. Whether its Democrat President Obama giving middle class tax money to the corrupted poor, or a Republican President giving tax money to the corrupted rich- the unconnected American still pays for the corruption.
The latest example is the current spending bill in the Senate that includes $8B in overt graft-as differentiated from any covert payola hidden in the bowels of $440B spending package. The Washingtonian Uniparty neatly divvied up the booty, 60% to Dems, 40% to Pubs- this ratio mirroring the current party proportions in the Senate. Give them credit, when it comes to dividing up the "take"- these guys are fair.
Ultimately, there is absolutely no moral currency in a nation that starts from a threshold proposition that "all men are created equal"; if then, two corrupt governing parties scheme to dole out taxpayer money by which to create inequality. That’s where we are.
The Washingtonian Republicans will not get my vote running on a a platform of the vilification of Obama. Both parties are statist and corrupt- and my vote is reserved for the American who comes out and says it.

NEWT GETS IT!
This weekend, Rush Limbaugh and Newt Gingrich spoke at the CPAC convention. A seminal thnker, Gingrich is an excellent political strategist; but he can't compete in a popularity contest with the Bill Clintons and the Limbaughs. At CPAC, he had the message, but Limbaugh received the nationwide attention.
Limbaugh successfully framed a message that aroused the passions of a partisan Republican/conservative audience. On the other hand, Gingrich delivered a brilliant assessment of the country’s current political climate, and proffered a credible strategy by which to combat Washingtonian statism.
Gingrich introduced the concept of the "American Peoples Party", a party "far bigger than the Republican party". Gingrich is a splendid tactician- he understands that the time is right for a regime change within the Republican Party. As he once deposed Washingtonian Minority Leader "Neville" Michaels, Gingrich now looks to displace the current big government, corrupt Congressional Republicans. Gingrich posited:
1. That "big government" is bi-partisan; and he termed recent spending packages as "Bush/Obama packages";
2. . He properly characterized the two political parties that actually exist in America today: (1) the "big government and political elite" party; and (2) the "American People’s Party" as led by Reagan and the "Contract with America" Congress.
3. He indicated that the GOP was merely the "right wing" of the big government party.
4. He encouraged his audience to reach out to democrat and independent conservatives to join the conceptual American Peoples Party, and defeat the Establishment Big Government party.
Gingrich, as well as Ron Paul, have hit on the message suitable to the times. But, they are not the ones who can carry the message. The leader who must carry the message is Governor Sarah Palin.
We have written on this site of the "Palin Majority"- a majority very much in line with Gingrich's CPAC message. But, the underpinnings of the message are anti-establishment and anti-Washington, which is why the Governor can coalesce this majority, and an insider like Gingrich, can't.
In this regard, one would think that the Governor will now stay clear of Washington; and hopefully, consider revising the message of her PAC in order to solidify her claim to her biggest advantage- the outsider, reform candidate. As 2012 approaches, one suspects the nation will see many old Washington politicians claiming to be "born again outsiders".
Below, we have the You Tube of Gingrich. The remarks that relate to this article can be found at times: 15:35 - 20:32. Additionally, see the closing two minutes.

Revised: TAKING DOWN THE ESTABLISHMENT GOP
Given the times, there are two possible paths to the Republican nomination for President in 2012: 1) the Establishment path; 2) the movement path. Yesterday, Governor Bobby Jindal chose the wrong path.
The Establishment path to the GOP nomination is well marked: a culturally conservative governor denominated a Washington "outsider"; preferably a non-white male or female; covertly networking with Washington insiders; securing bribe money from the Washington power boys; then campaigning on the platform that President Obama is a Marxist, that taxes are too high and government spending is excessive.
Last night, Bobby Jindal decided to walk that path. It was a mistake. The Establishment Republicans trumpeted his arrival, telegraphed his message, armed him with hackneyed republican platitudes and sent him into an ambush. Not since Gunga Din has an Indian been so mistreated by white men. His enemies laid in wait, and waylaid him from all sides.
In the aftermath of his speech, Jindal was universally mocked for speaking to the nation in the dolcet tones of a parent speaking to a child. This was not his fault. He was doing the precise bidding of the GOP patriarchs; these Bushian beneficent patricians who actually see Americans as school children. I have no doubt whatsoever that Gov. Jindal was encouraged to adopt the "Mr. Rodgers" voice-- how else would one deliver a fairytale message?
Yesterday, Jindal had no chance. But if one were to ascribe blame to the gifted Jindal, it would be for his decision to allow himself to be the token "brown man" delivering the statist Establishment Republican message. Instead, he should have delivered an independent, adult message to the effect that the Stimulus and Bailout were in fact bi-partison rescues of the negligence and corrupted governing class; that both parties are, in fact, big government statist parties; that these statist parties are leading us on a short route to global government. Now, there would have been a speech for the ages.
The citizens that Jindal had to reach last night were the 50M voters who did not show up at the last election. In the face of economic catastrophe, these voters were not going to be moved by the old GOP bromides and deceptive promises that they have heard for the past forty years. These people understand that America’s problems go well beyond tinkering with policy. America’s problems are foundational and systemic; lower taxes are not going to repair a rogue and corrupted government.
Thus, the path for Mr. Jindal, or Sanford, or Demint, Pence or Governor Palin is anti-establishment- the movement path. The message of the times can be found in grassroots efforts such as the 10th Amendment Movement that seeks to restore Constitutional balance to America; in the Rick Santelli diatribe that inspired the disenfranchised; in the recent popular support for the reenactment of "tea parties"; that majority Americans neither want statism or globalism.
The Establishment Republicans obviously want no part of this message because, despite their fraudulent claims, they want "big government" as much as the Democrats. Members of Washington's "Uniparty" gain wealth and power through centralized government. For instance, USA Today recently reported that a few members of Congress, including Sen. Arlen Specter's wife, owned stock in or were employed by companies that benefitted from the recently passed Bank Bailout (TARP). There’s big money in big government.
The answer then is for these young governors and like minded politicians to unite for the purpose of overthrowing the current Republican leadership and realigning the party into a "constitutional reform" party. Governor Palin, Jindal and other outsiders will continue to be ridiculed and marginalized if they insist on trying to rehabilitate an indefensible and fraudulent Republican message. Yesterday, if Governor Jindal had spoken to the issues of statism and globalism, even if he had done so in Burmese with sub-titles; the national conversation today would have been on his message, not his voice. And though he certainly would not have won universal acceptance of the message, he would have earned universal respect.
These small government outsiders can either distance themselves from the Republican Establishment or they can become part of it. – But, if they choose to throw in and carry polluted Republican water, they do so at a heavy price- as Governor Jindal learned yesterday.
02-25-2009 11:21:10 PM EST
THE STALKING HORSE
So, Governor Bobby Jindal is now the leader of the Republican Party and America’s conservative movement- at least, so it would appear. He was selected by the Washingtonian Republican Establsihment to reply to President Barrack Obama’s State of the Union ("SOTU") speech, and the ubiquitous Jindal has also appeared on virtually all the significant national media outlets this week.
It was only a few weeks a go, on January 29, 2009, that conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh had touted Governor Sarah Palin as the leader of the GOP. But, this week, Limbaugh reversed himself and awarded that distinction to Governor Jindal, referring to him as "the closest thing we've got to an elected version of the next Ronald Reagan in the United States...".
Today, after Mr. Jindal received mixed reviews relative to his SOTU rebuttal, Limbaugh resolutely defended his new-found leader: "if you think people on our side, I'm talking to you, those of you who think Jindal was horrible, in fact, I don't want to hear from you ever again."
So, the question now arises as to why Sarah Palin so precipitously lost standing within the Republican and Conservative hierarchy?
The conventional answer is simply that Mr. Jindal is a keenly intelligent and nimble conservative thinker, and as such, he’s much more capable of articulating and advancing conservative ideology than Governor Palin. And that could well be- but there are other possible answers.
As to Mr. Limbaugh, he might merely have been put off by Governor Palin because she declined to attend the CPAC convention after Limbaugh was confirmed as the keynote speaker-and/or- that she had granted an interview to competitor, Michael Medved.
As to the Republican Establishment, in the persons of Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, Mr.Jindal may be an easier politician to control than the iconoclastic Palin- or he might better serve the Republican Party’s new "hip-hop" outreach program.
But, whether by clever GOP design or unintended effect, the presence of Governor Jindal serves two significant purposes for Governor Palin.
First, as far as Governor Palin is concerned, the more conservative targets on the national battlefield the better. Pravda and the Establishment Republicans had focused their attacks almost exclusively on her- now, Governor Jindal can draw some fire. With Limbaugh calling Jindal "Ronald Reagan" and the GOP setting him up as their titular head, they pinned a bulls-eye to Jindal’s chest (perhaps intentionally).
Second, Mr. Jindal effectively acts as the GOP’s stalking horse. In the battle between the liberal and conservative wings of the party, Jindal is now test marketing the conservative national message for the GOP. Governor Palin can sit back and gauge his message- and when the time is right- she can either adopt it, modify it or go her own way.
After recent events, there may be some who believe Governor Palin’s star is fading-I don’t think so. Ultimately, she still needs the right message. But, she has one advantage Mr. Jindal, and none of the others have—she’s Sarah Palin.

SARAHPAC- EDITED
The message of SarahPac reads as follows:
Dedicated to building America's future, supporting fresh ideas and candidates who share our vision for reform and innovation.
SarahPAC believes America's best days are ahead. Our country, founded on conservative principles and the fight for freedom, must confront the challenges of the 21st century with integrity, innovation, and determination.
SarahPAC believes energy independence is a cornerstone of the economic security and progress that every American family wants and deserves.
SarahPAC believes the Republican Party is at the threshold of an historic renaissance that will build a better future for all. Health care, education, and reform of government are among our key goals. Join us today!
Here’s a grassroots alternative:
Dedicated to reaffirming and reestablishing the principle of Federalism that undergirds our great constitutional democracy; to identifying and removing corrupt influences within our government; and to promulgating and enforcing ethnical standards of governance.
SarahPAC believes America's best days are ahead, but in order to secure those days, we must first reorient our government in line with our Framers’ intent. America was never intended to be ruled by a centralized national government. The Framers contemplated diverse, sovereign states united within a federal government of limited power and purpose. Clearly, our federal government has exceeded its Constitutional dimension.
American Democracy is predicated on the bedrock principle of governmental balance. Our Constitution abhors the consolidation of authoratarian power in any one governing entity. Americans have risked wars, and have been brought to war, as a consequnce of foreign centralized governments hijacked by evil. In America today, we daily witness the intense rancor of partisans as they engage in a "no holds barred" fight for control of this over-powering national government. Is there any question as to why? Where all power rests in one governing authority - the stakes are prohibitive.
That’s why SarahPac is dedicated to supporting candidates who will fight to restore constitutional balance to America. We will be a much safer nation, a more civil nation, a less corrupt nation when we drain the disproportionate power from Washington and return it to the states- in accordance with the genius of the Framers.
SarahPac is a grassroots organization, and requests contributions from citizens in the amounts of $1-$250. Please support are efforts to secure our democracy.

And soon, Reason will return to the Land-
This is the dawning of the Age of Palin"

I. The Palin Majority- An overview-
Conventional wisdom currently holds that the 2012 Presidential election will essentially be a referendum on the performance of the incumbent, President Barrack Obama. That may or may not be so, but it is wholly inconsequential to Governor Sarah Palin’s path to victory in 2012. Notwithstanding Obama’s performance, Governor Palin will be uniquely situated in a political environment in which she can galvanize a principled, enduring and transformational American majority of historical significance.
Certainly, no one can divine the future. Nevertheless, odds overwhlemingly favor the likelihood that the time frame 2009-2012 will be marked by unprecedented statism in America. By 2012, America will have likely witnessed: (1) pronounced Obama/Democrat government intrusion, incremental or otherwise; (2) complicity in the same by expedient Republican politicians who betrayed country for votes; and (3) further evidence that Americans are, in actuality, unwitting and unwilling subjects of the Washington/Wall Street/Globalist governing oligarchy.
Thus in 2012, confronted by the stark reality of American socialism, a majority of Americans will be shakened from apathetic relativism; and, they will set aside all lesser political concerns in favor of the reclamation and reaffirmation of this nation’s original governing principles. And to that purpose, they will support a credible American leader who, believing in the Founders’ America, "will stand athwart statism, yelling -Stop!".
As of today, Governor Palin is singularly qualified to be the leader of this new majority. She is a Washington outsider, she has a proven record of confronting corruption and in all that she’s done, she has displayed courage, tenacity and a grace under fire. In 2012, Americans will not be in the market for slick, cool, cerebral or smooth; nor will they buy a huckster, a maverick or a compromiser. No, in 2012, Americans will want "look you in the eye" honesty; "my word's my bond" character; -"hard as nails" determination and "walk into Hell" courage. Right now, as of December 2008, - that's Sarah Palin.
Character aside, the Governor also has the advantage of having the faithful support of a secure base of conservative voters philosophically committed to small government. However, in attempting to build a majority from that base, the Governor must take a leap of faith- and trust the common sense of Americans. She must totally disregard the Washington "sharpies" who will advise her to tack to the center and pander for votes. That would destroy all she is, and all she can be. Instead, she must trust in the fact that a majority of Americans still understand that the governing principles ordained by the Founders remain as the best and most effective governing principles ever devised by, and for, a free people. And that these Americans further understand that no fair, just, American debate can be had on any national issue, of any sort,--unless and until, we re-establish the foundational rules of American debate as comtemplated and articulated by the Framers.
A variant of this message, in the form of an anti-Washington/reform message, was successfully delivered by Ross Perot in 1992, where his vote of 18 percent in combination with George Bush’s vote of 37 percent constituted a majority. And in 1994, the Republicans codified that anti-Washington message in the "Contract with America" and also received majority support. At end point, however, the reformist voter was betrayed. Politicians promised adherence to American principles of governance, but once in Washington, they sold out to the corrupt Washington/Wall Street/Globalist elite.
I believe that the majority of those betrayed voters have since gone dormant, and reside in that huge pool of voters who no longer exercise their franchise. In Socialist America 2012, Governor Palin, who possesses inherent Libertarian /Perot /Paul outsider credentials, will have the credibility to approach these same voters, regain their trust and lock them into a new Palin Republican majority. Here then, not a majority of contrivance brought about by political expediency; rather, an honorable majority that seeks nothing from their government other than that the government be duly constituted, and function, within the legal framework prescribed by the Founders.
If realized, the Palin Majority will result in a realignment of the current Republican Party. Social status and big government republicans will be displaced by independents grounded in a commitment to originalist American governing principles. The Palin Republican Party will not be perceived as the party of the rich; but instead, it will be viewed as the party of common sense Americans with an ideological adherence to the governing principles of the Founders’ America.
Accordingly, if the times in 2012 are as projected, I believe that the Governor will not only become the first female American President, but she will earn a historic legacy as the leader of the movement that "re-found" and saved America.
And, - so long as Governor Palin chooses American leadership over Republican partisan politics- President Obama, the Democrats, the Republican conspirators and the propagandist media will be powerless to stop her common sense majority from disposing of America’s socialist state, 2012.

United States Statist Republic
Don't be fooled.
President Obama is not the primary enemy of those who believe in the Founders America.
The Democrat Party is not their primary enemy.
The enemies are the 500+ Washingtonians who, notwithstanding any protestations to the contrary, continue to consolidate power in Washington. American States were intended to be principally sovereign; not tyrannized by an oligarchy in Washington.
The Democrat/Republican Uniparty is in the business of governance. By enhancing the scope and power of the national government, the Uniparty expands its market and fortifies its monopoly.
Republican or Democrat, each and every act that further centralizes totalitarian power in Washington increases the power of their office- their individual fiefdoms.
Make no mistake, Bush bailouts and Obama stimulus bills, against the popular will, are nothing but confiscatory, bi-paritsan schemes to maintain and/or enhance their industry.
The enemy is Moscow on the Potomac.

WHEEL OF FUTUREThere’s nothing new under the sun.
For the political junkies who have never read Edwin O’Connor’s "The Last Hurrah" (Boston-Mayor Curly) or William Riordan’s "Plunkett of Tammany Hall" or Mike Royko’s "Boss" (Daley-Chicago)- now would be the time. Watching President Barrack Obama in recent town meetings, I have to give him his due—he’s super-fly. Boss Obama and the current Democrat Party are putting legendary political machines to shame. Not even Himself, Boss Tweed, would have been so brazen as to engage in such a public display of venality and patronage as the reigning Grand Sachem, Boss Obama, and his ward thugs.
Meanwhile, the Socialistic Republicans sit on the sidelines and cry in their Cristal- as they watch trillions in graft go to grease the cogs of the Democrat machine- and alas, not one dime to the country club set. Hey, sorry guys- elections have consequences; and to the victor goes the keys to the vault. A few months back, you and George Bush took a trillion from the taxpayer to save the "fat cats". Bad move. Fat cats don’t vote.
Now, in subsequent columns, I will try to make the case that this corrupt behavior on the part of both parties is a God-send; and it is. But, not here. Here, I’m going pop culture, MTV, reality TV.- yep, I’m down with the times. And therefore, there is only one conceivable solution for the Republicans in the face of the imminent handout to Democrats in this Oprah culture and with our "Bob Barker" President —increase the Jackpot.
That’s right, up the bribe- I mean prize money. Don Pardo, tell Americans what Republicans have for them– " Americans, for one day and one day only, the Republicans are offering you $20,000.00 per vote. That’s "20 Large" for all adults in America. The Democrats are going to give you a pittance, 400 bucks in tax credit; and they throw the rest to Acorn, and filling potholes, and making you get a job to earn the payola. Not, the Republicans. They’re giving you the gold, 20 grand, delivered right to your door. And wait, for the first million who call their representative in support of the giveaway, you’ll get a free set of Ginsu steak knifes- and with those 20 Big Ones, you’ll be able to make good use of them..."
Am I joking? Nope. The giveaway is perfectly suited to the Star Search culture- and it would work. It’s the same amount of money that's going to be doled out, anyway. But as it is now, the money’s going to Acorn and the Democrat machine caporegimes. If the Republicans tell the masses they’re willing to pay 20,000 bucks a vote—the peeps will support the freebie GOP plan and lynch the Democrats who vote against it. Now, that would be great reality TV! Sorry, it’s my right. Says it right there in the Living Constitution: "inalienable right to life, liberty, happiness, bribes and entertainment."
Hey, it's MTV-- I get my money for nuthin’, and my chicks for free.
(Author’s Comment: Incidentally, anyone who believes that the big government elite Pubs are actually against this Stimulus- well- you’re wrong. The water level in the Washington Swamp is fast receding; revealing the corrupt seabed. All the Washingtonians, and their co-conspirators in the States, are desperately trying to raise the water level before Americans see all bi-partisan sewage on the bottom. The Socialist Washingtonians are together on this.

BAD NEWS!
Governor Sarah Palin has decided not to address the CPAC convention. On February 8, 2009, this site wrote: "And, unfortunately, the effects of this Alfalfa counter-offensive may not yet have completely run their course. The Governor is slated to speak at CPAC later this month. One shouldn't be surprised if she's forced to cancel- and that would hurt her."
With all due respect to the Governor, I think she is on the wrong path. A couple of weeks ago, she dined with the elites and "well-connected" - while contemporaneously, declining to dine with conservative House Republicans. Now, she has declined the invitation of the conservative action group, CPAC.
Tactically, I understand. First, as a practical matter, she couldn't attend CPAC. As a consequence of the ill-advised attendence of the Alfalfa Dinner, she's been subsequently outflanked and bombarded mercilessly by her enemies. She now has to bunker down and take cover in Alaska. Thanks John McCain and holdover "advisers".
Secondly, again tactically, the CPAC conservative base is loyal to her- she need not present her bone fides to that group.
So, here we are not so concerned that she has confidence in her base support, as much as the fact that she is reaching out to the wrong crowd in attempting to expand that base to majority status. She will never receive the support of the "mushy middle"; the high brows; the Republican Establishment; the Washingtonians; the Alfalfa crowd. They will deck her out in $180K wardrobes, but they'll never accept her. Never.
Her potential majority lies precisely in the opposite– anti-Washington, anti-Establishment, anti-elites. She should have declined all invitations. But, if she accepted one, it should have been CPAC. And there, she should have articulated the Palin Manifesto– that the powerful and well connected have driven American into the throes of Socialism- and as Reagan declared war on Moscow- Palin should have declared war on the "well connected" who control Establishment Washington.
Please, my view is not hyperbole or hysterics–it’s reasoned. Only those who are ignorant or overly polite can evade the conclusion that American is now a socialist country. And millions of Americans are looking for a leader who will lead the resistance, and restore free enterprise and opportunity to the nation. That's why I support the Governor- that's why this site was started months ago,
Currently, Governor Palin is proceeding as if she is a little to the right of John McCain–and that’s not going to make it.
The Governor has the opportunity to be an iconic figure in American history– but apparently, she's remains uncertain of her message. In poiltics, enemies always fill in the empty circles. The Governor has to define herself, or they'll define her. The governor has to seize the times.

INDIGESTION
"I bet they had a whole lot better dinner at the Alfalfa Club than what they're eating tonight in Emmonak and Kotlik."–Alaskan Rep. Ramras
Mr. Ramras is a socialist Democrat, right? Ut-uh. He’s the Bush/Murkowski Establishment Republican Chairman of the Judiciary Committee who tried to take Governor Sarah Palin down in Troopergate. As set forth in my preceding entry, Mr. Ramras is one of the Alaskan mercenaries engaged by the Washington Establishment to destroy the Governor’s political future. In Alaska, he’s now attacking the Governor for not having acted promptly in securing sustenance for certain groups of Alaskans who have fallen on hard times this winter.
So, there we have it. As a direct consequence of her high profile attendance of the Alfalfa Dinner, the Governor's enemies instantly responded with a coordinated counterattack- viz. (1) Ashley Judd in a national video (eyeonpalin.org); (2) her enemies’ mouthpieces who deliberately distorted her position on the Stimulus Bill; (3) and now, Ramras, who smears her for being more concerned with eating with elites, than feeding the indigent in Alaska.
And, unfortunately, the effects of this Alfalfa counter-offensive may not yet have completely run their course. The Governor is slated to speak at CPAC later this month. One shouldn't be surprised if she's forced to cancel- and that would hurt her.
The Governor is the "Great Commoner" in a time when the political climate is perfectly suited to her (72% in a Rasmussen Poll today opined that "there is double standard with one set of rules for well-connected people and another set of rules for everybody else"). In such a climate, why would anyone attend a celebrity dinner with the well-connected?
In any event, here's the problem. If one had asked most any guy on a Wasilla street, he could have predicted this reaction to her attendence of Alfalfa. So, why didn't her inner circle of advisers anticipate it- and stop her from going? One gets theimpression she is being guided by Establishment insiders, RNC regulars and/or McCain holdovers. Well, they may know the elite corridors of Washington, but they apparently have no feel for the mood of the country- nor the life source of the Governor's appeal.

DINING WITH THE DEVIL
God opens doors- the Devil opens them wider.
During the 2008 election, Governor Sarah Palin was betrayed by the Establishment McCain Republicans when they dropped a dime on her about the $150K wardrobe. They labeled her a Diva, with obvious intent to make Palin the scapegoat of the McCain debacle. So work the Establishment cutthroats.
In response, on the very next day, Governor Palin went to her campaign rallies in jeans. At those rallies, she talked about her $35.00 wedding band; her favorite consignment shop ("Out of the Closet"); how she hadn’t asked the campaign for anything, other than a "Tab".
And the lessons learned from this history? One learns that the Establishment politicians can never be trusted- -especially the smiley ones. One learns that John McCain, Mr. "Gang of 14", is in actuality- "Mr. Gang of 1" -McCain will do what’s best for McCain. And one learns that Governor Palin, when attacked, intuitively runs into the arms of her loyal base- a base she can trust–people who wear jeans and frequent consignment shops.
Against this backdrop, the "big" news of the weekend was that Governor Palin demurred on an invitation to dinner hosted by House Republicans, and instead, attended the Washingtonian elite Alfalfa dinner. But, that really wasn’t news at all. Frankly, she shouldn't have attended either one. She should have stayed in Alaska and dealt with volcanoes- natural and political. The Washingtonian Establishment, through merceniaries, has invaded her state. They want to take her out there-and that's where her war is.
Neverthless, the really significant news of the weekend was that Palin was on the arm of John McCain at the Alfalfa dinner; that she hired McCain adviser Rebecca Donnatelli; and, that she had a private dinner with McCain Campaign Financial Manager, money-man Fred Malek. Respectfully Governor, those who do not learn from history, are doomed to repeat it.
John McCain is an opportunist. He is absolutely unmatched in his ability to straddle the seesaw, and leverage both sides. He fancies himself the King of the Deciding Vote. The more Palin allies herself with McCain and his minions; the more ammunition she provides him to destroy her career. Next time, it won’t be wardrobes and "going rogue"; next time, it will be hard fact that she won’t be able to deflect by slipping on a pair of jeans. At end point, she can make a pact with the devil, but then her Destiny is no longer her own.
Certainly, there are those pragmatic, political people who will argue that Governor Palin must network with Washingtonians. These people assert that money is the blood of politics, and so, candidates have no choice but to mortgage themselves at the Establishment Central Bank. Perhaps; then again, perhaps not in the case of Sarah Palin.
The Governor is an unconventional candidate, and there is currently no need for her to proceed in a conventional manner. Great leaders in history are iconoclasts; they create the rules. Right now, the Establishment is more afraid of her, than she of it. The Establishment has declared war on her; and in turn, she should have declared war on it. She didn’t; perhaps because McCain interceded. In sponsoring her to Alfalfa, he is attempting to broker the peace. The terms: if she doesn’t take on Washington, then, the Establishment money will finance her Presidential campaign. All she has to do is play ball, and if she does, she can potentially become the Establishment’s female Republican Presidential candidate. Tempting.
But, the Governor doesn’t have to make this deal- and she shouldn't. She can network with others similarity situated outside the Establishment. Talk Radio, Rush, Ann Coulter, conservative economic feminists, Pence, Cantor, Dimint et. al–they likely would all be willing to be part of her anti-Establishment support group. And millions upon millions of common people, in nickels and dimes, would finance her campaign- just so that she would not be beholding to the Establishment interests.
Governor, go with your strength. Control your Destiny. Go with those who would be loyal to you. These people will never betray you- and that certainly can’t be said for the devils who you are palling around with now.
Take off the elegant black gown, slip into jeans.
UPDATE 2/2/09---
National poll out today that indicates that Republicans prefer the outsider views of Governor Palin over those of John McCain by a margin of 55%-24%. Certainly then, that explains why McCain would wish to hang out with the Governor- but not the inverse.
Also, it appears, President Obama bumped into the truth at the Alfalfa Dinner: "Good to see Gov. Palin here. I never expected to see you palling around in this crowd."

JUST....DAMN!
I’m really depressed. A few weeks ago, there were media reports that Governor Sarah Palin had retained the Washingtonians’ elite deal maker to peddle a book. Now, there are reports of the formation of a very pedestrian, Washingtonian Political Action Committee dedicated to, inter alia, education, health care, and energy policy. Wonderful.
Don’t misunderstand. No one would be happier than I to see Governor Palin become wealthy- she deserves it. I hope she makes a gazillion on a book. Politically speaking, however, it’s deflating to watch as these pointy headed PAC-men turn a potential President Andrew Jackson into Colin Powell. That’s all.
Worse, the timing is off. America is experiencing a financial meltdown-who's going to contribute other than wealthy insiders? And since Pravda will examine the source of each and every contribution, the PAC has the potential of reducing the Goverrnor to a caricature. Governor Palin's national appeal is as an outsider. Set her up with a conventional insider's PAC with a conventional insider's message, then she loses her greatest asset. The message should have been strongly anti-Washington, and contributions limited to $1-100--she'd have rasied plenty.-
The timing notwithstanding, the Washington/Wall Street oligarchy is on the ropes, teetering like Moscow in the late 1980's. Palin Unplugged could topple this regime, and become an iconic figure; America’s Joan of Arc- and change America for the next century. Instead, the pointy heads are taking Luciano Pavoratti, giving him a tattoo and a piercing- and telling him to sing hip-hop.
Washington has been seized by statists- the government is wholly corrupted-the economy is at the brink. These are once in a century desperate times. The nation needs a leader, not a health and education administrator. And a PAC that fashions the pit bull/moose hunter as a Scout Mother who will get all the parties in a big circle to link arms and sing Kumbaya, isn't going to make it- not in these times.
Lord, beam me up.

THE RED STATE UNION
The election of President Barrack Obama marks the apex of statism in America and presents an opportunity for conservative-reformists who wish to see a return to the Framer’s America. ("The Palin Majority-2012"-12/03/08). To take advantage of that opportunity, however, Originalists will have to switch tactics.
Statism in Washington will never be eradicated through the national popular vote. In 1994, the most doctrinaire conservatives were sent to Washington, and the Leviathan on the Potomac shallowed them whole. Worse still, whenever such conservatives become "newtered" by Washington, Originalists become that much more demoralized; and statism that much more emboldened and entrenched. That’s not to say that Republicans or Conservatives cannot win a national election, certainly they can—but it would be a Pyrrhic victory- nothing would change.
Originalists must accept the fact that they cannot defeat Washington in a frontal assault. Their power lies in the "Red States"- and just as the original colonies- the red state governments must unite in a committed alliance and movement. This confederacy of limited government states operating within statist America would not be uniting for the purpose of seceding, but succeeding.
The proposed alliance would collectively support member states politically, commercially and economically for the purpose of demonstrating the superiority of foundational American governance. To the extent possible, they would engage in commerce amongst themselves, all the way down to grassroot Internet users who would "buy red state". The movement would ultimately seek to gain 38 members- enough to obtain a super-majority and amend the Constitution to its original intent; and thereby, strip the Washington oligarchy of the federal power that it has unconstitutionally ceded to itself.
Such an alliance would obviously be opposed by statists, but to no effect. Limited government and uncorrupted capitalism ( as opposed to current corrupted capitalism that has seen the rich buy Washington, in order to insure their wealth) has historically prevailed over statism. These states will govern themselves as intended- as sovereign nation-states bound by a common federal Constitution for the primary purposes of commerce and defense.
In the interim, Originalists must not diverted by the Establishment minions who would have them re-enlist into the War of the Hobson’s Choice. For instance, columnist Dick Morris recently writes that President Barrack Obama will introduce socialism to America. This rhetoric is inflammatory nonsense because it is axiomatic that Mr. Obama cannot introduce what already exists in America.
Existent American socialism is a bi-partisan enterprise. Through his doctrines of "compassion conservatism" and "conservative big government", President George W. Bush did more to fortify American statism than any President since Franklin Roosevelt. Therefore, one should not be lured by Morris’ entreaties to support the establishment Washingtonian Republican Division of the Global Uniparty based on the demonization of Obama as a socialist. McCainBushPowellObama- by any other name would still be a Washingtonian/globalist/centralized government statist.
Accordingly, the Red State Union must seek to realign the current Establishment Republican Party. In the past election, many conservatives, libertarians and approximately fifty million registered voters did not exercise their franchise- which is to say, they wanted nothing to do with the two Establishment parties as currently constituted. As long as the Red State Union propounds a "one plank platform"- power out of Washington and back to the states- then, I believe they can successfully attract many of these disenfranchised voters in order to forge a realignment of the Republican Party into a true limited government party.
Absent that, America will continue to have two choices–Democrat statism or Republican statism—take your pick.

FROM INSIDE THE LEVIATHAN
Call me, Ahab— writing within the bowels of a Beluga Whale- somewhere in the waters off Cook Inlet, Alaska.
Please recall the United States Supreme Court eminent domain decision of Kelo v. New London. In Kelo, his Eminence, master legislator/justice Kennedy and his majority court unilaterally amended the Constitution’s Takings Clause (5th Amendment). Infinitely wiser than those fools who fought a Revolution and founded a country, these Master Justices corrected the Takings Clause by striking the Framer’s imprecise language as to the term "public use" - and inserted therein what the Framers would have written if they had been endowed with the genius of Master Justices- "public purpose". Thus revised, the Takings Clause now properly reflects the Framer’s real intent—that the rich, powerful and politically connected may condemn a citizen’s private property for the purpose of maintaining and/or increasing their wealth and power.
But, apparently, Kelo has limited jurisdiction; it applies solely to American citizens- not to Beluga Whales. That is, Pfizer International’s development of a luxury hotel, office space and other amenities constituted a sufficient demonstration of a "public purpose" whereby fifteen families were run off their land in New London, Connecticut (ironically, a whaling town). Whereas, the federal government has now enjoined Alaska from proceeding with certain "public purpose" projects in Anchorage in deference to the possessory rights of 350 Beluga Whales who swim in the surrounding waters.
Do whales have greater property rights than an American citizen? Depends. In a case where a whale can serve as a means to feed the insatiable appetite for control of the Leviathan swimming in the District of Columbia, then the American citizen’s rights amount to nothing more than plankton. The central planning freaks within the Leviathan want to control every action, in every home, on every street, in every state in the Union- and they will stop at nothing to assert that control.
Here, the Bush ‘conservative big government" administration placed these Beluga whales on the endangered species list; thus by federal order, estopping the sovereign State of Alaska from its inherent right to develop its resources in the best interests of its citizens. Are the Beluga whales really endangered? Only if they get poached in the boiling oceans caused by global warming. Reportedly, there are a 100,000 Beluga’s in existence, 10,000+ swimming the waters off Alaska. But, it doesn’t really matter. If the Leviathan wants to halt development that’s not consistent with its central plan, then it will always find the means to accomplishment its purpose.
When States signed on to the Federal Constitution, they bargained for a Republic- not a totalitarian regime. It is inherently arrogant and insulting for the District of Columbia to assume that the citizens of each individual state care less, know less, or are any less capable of (1) educating their children, (2) administering to the general welfare and/or (3) preserving the environment of their state without the heavy-handed guidance from Washington.
But, then again, it’s not about arrogance or insults–is it? It’s about eminent domain in the extreme- seizing absolute control over every inch of this nation for the "public purpose" of razing America in order to build the new world order.
But, nevertheless, as I have often written-these are Fateful times for a leader in the mold of Governor Sarah Palin. The statists will continue to overeach. The winds, the currents and the fortunes are aligned- a perfect time to set sail for Moby Dick. But, is she willing and prepared to recruit the "states' rights" crew necessary to take on the Moscow Leviathan on the Potomac?
"Towards thee I roll, thou all-destroying but unconquering whale; to the last I grapple with thee; from hell’s heart I stab at thee; for hate’s sake I spit my last breath at thee."
I am Ahab. (

LADIES - IMPEACH THEM ALL
My, my, my- it appears that they finally found Jimmy Hoffa- he’s alive and well in Governor Rod Blagojewich’s body- for the time being, at least.
So, why’d he get impeached? Did the Daley Machine suddenly decide that Illinois needs good, clean government? Don't think so. Death Wish Rod got whacked for the same reason that Saddam Hussein, Jimmy Hoffa, Mauel Noriega and all other political wiseguys get whacked- they got greedy and over-reached. The "Dons" gave them all a fair percentage of the good life, and they still wanted more- so, they got whacked. Hot Rod's impeachment is a charade, a show trial– under the pretense of clean government, the corrupt establishment will eliminate this wingnut who, by his actions, commiitted the most grievous "infamita"- he brought mass attention to their venal racket.
But, per chance, there’s an opportunity here. Let’s whack them all. Seriously. It’s time for an accounting--- time for the citizens to check the books, local to federal. In all reason, do we need any more evidence that America is wholly corrupted? How may more indictments of politicians are required? What more evidence can be provided that America is controlled by a the Washington/Wall St./ Globalist oligarchy? How many more bailouts? How many more stimulus cum graft packages? How many more propaganda cover-ups from a "free press" turned Pravda? Let’s state it plain- America is not currently socialist- it’s totalitarian-communist; we are a nation of powerless folks, enslaved by a corrupt global ruling class that uses governments to perpetuate its dominion. "An elective despositism was not the government we fought for" (Jefferson). That’s it- I said it- that’s the truth- send me to Siberia.
What to do? I think American women should revolt against this tyranny by organizing Citizen Review Committees all over the nation. Starting with every precinct in every community, they should mount a grassroots campaign to "check the books"; effectively impeaching them all. Yes, it would be a daunting undertaking- but it can be done. And women can do it.
Why women? They’re predominantly outsiders- and in sufficient numbers- they can eradicate the corruption before being co-opted by it. The same can’t be said for men. Most powerful men are inside the ranks; and those powerful men outside the system, are nonetheless somehow connected, if marginally. Beyond that, most influential men have a great deal to lose with little to gain in attempting to confront the corrupt establishment (e.g. the smackdown of Ross Perot).
More importantly, women have the most to gain. A corrupt system abhors outsiders- and so most women are currently excluded from its ranks. Right now, active politicized women are expending great resources and energy debating sexism, compensation and reproductive matters. Yes, those isssues are important, but not worth a dime, where the corrupt patriarchs maintain ultimate authority. It is merely a devious establishment diversion to have women stare up at a glass ceiling, when it's the bars of corruption that actually imprison them and their families. Women must ask- how can we advance within a corrupt enterprise unless we are also willing to engage in corruption? And the answer is, they can’t. And so, short of joining the corruption (e.g.-Hillary), the remedy for honorable women is to first sweep it out.
Women have done it. The French Revolution was catalyzed by masses of enraged French women who couldn’t feed their families. Joan of Arc gave backbone to the linguine-spined French generals. Susan B. Anthony united disparate factions of the 19th century women’s rights movement in common cause. In fact, a committed pragmatiist in the mold of Ms. Anthony would be ideally suited to lead this reformation.
The time is right. As I wrote last year, the fiscally stressed period between 2008-2012 will conclusively reveal the American divide, the ruling elites versus the common folks—and Mr. Blagojewich, Ms. Kennedy, Mr. Ricahardson, Mr. Rendell, Mr. Madoff and the rest of the privileged class have not failed to disappoint thus far. In fact, I just read that the statist President Obama is tonight dining in Washington with his elite conservative "opposition". The menu wasn't published, so I don't know what's on the main course---but I'm pretty certain that the common folks will end up as the dessert.
Here, let me please disabuse anyone of the notion that I have anything against people of wealth. I don't. To those who have succeeded through honest enterprise, well, God bless them. My sole objection is when they get together with the people's representatives and conspire to stack the deck so that they can maintain and increase their wealth--and thus, deny others so inclined the same opportunity to succeed. That's corruption- and that's what's happening.
In any event, the organizational foundation for reformation is in the heartland in the form of such grassroots groups as "Team Sarah". However, with all due respect to the efforts of my betters, they're currently fighting the wrong war. Team Sarah is engaging in a civil war- traditional women against the left wing feminists. That's a war that cannot be won. The left wing feminists are the equivalent of North Vietnam- they are supported by the statists and thus protected by the corrupt regime. Ronald Reagan took the battle to the source, the USSR, and won the war. Likewise, Team Sarah must do battle with, and defeat, the the corruption; whereupon the feminists will fall.
Similarly, Governor Palin is currently sparing with the media. But, parrying insults will not do it. The corrupt establishment forces (both parties) have declared war on her --- and if her desire is the Presidency, she has only one course--she must declare war on them. It was her action in challenging the corrupt Alaskan "good old boys" that made her a national figure; and unfortunately, Americans will not accept less from her on a national level. She is slave to her success and her crusading image. She is the "pit bull" who took a bite out of the Alaskan political machine's butt, and America will just never accept her as a typical American political "lap dog".
When and if she decides to mobilize Team Sarah into Army Sarah, and declares open war on the corrupted system, all the media nonsense will stop—and grassroots movements across the nation will rally around her cause to fight corruption. She will be a leader of historical proportion. [I’ll stop- months ago, I did write the Governor suggesting a manner in which she might lead such a cause--it probably wasn’t well received.-:)]
In any event, it's time for American women to fulfill their primary role as Guardians of the Generations. The nation is in crisis, and women must assert their natural dominion over men. We’ve reached that point in family life, where Mom goes alien. She grabs the wooden spoon and brandishes it like a light saber. The "good old permissive Mom" expression becomes transmogrified into "I gave you life, and I can give you death"- or as they might say in Alaska- "going mama-grizzly".
Now, will men follow? They always do. If women wish to bring men to the cause- simply state that there is nothing sexier than a heroic man who fights corruption. Young men will flock to the cause.
It works, women know. Heck, many years ago, after this movie, I bought a motorcycle. -:)

STAND UP.... AND STAND DOWN
Unlike most, I imagine, I feel a sense of compassion for Mrs. Caroline Kennedy-Schlossberg. Yes, she is a person of wealth and privilege- but one should not dismiss the amplitude of emotional privation that Destiny exacted from her in tribute. When Death takes a parent from a young child, it grabs a fistful of the child’s Life as well.
In my view, Mrs. Schlossberg has paid an extreme price for her celebrity- and so, it is unseemly to watch the exploitation of this celebrity born of tragedy. And that’s why, relative to this Senate selection business, I hope she will finally stand up, and stand down.
In this made-for-TV travesty, one would hope that the national audience would realize that it is not viewing a taught political drama about some Senate seat- rather, it is watching a macabre black comedy. The national blog, Politico, recently quoted an adviser to one of Mrs. Schlossberg’s rivals: "It’s a tough thing — you can’t run against the little girl at the funeral ". And that’s exactly what it’s all about, isn’t it? We’re watching a a cynical, dirty business-Kennedy Family business- Democrat Business- Obama business- corrupt political big business transacted with the currency of a child’s anguish.
We all know that this "little girl at the funeral" is surrounded by miserable, mercenary miscreants who see a pot of gold in the fairy princess of Camelot. But regrettably- for her, this is no American fairytale- the gunning down of her father and uncle- filmed in gory technicolor- is her personal reality horror movie of eternal reruns in endless loop. And that is why the "little girl" must now stand up- and tell American that she will not be the child-star of this commercially driven psycho-farce.
If Mrs. Schlossberg truly has reached that point in life where she has decided to grasp the torch from her fallen father’s hand, then she must not do so as "Daddy’s little mournful girl", but as political warrior aspiring to be every bit his equal.
Admire him or not, JFK was a man of immense pride and dignity. Inveterately proud, he would have never have entered the arena through the back door; never supplicated for a political gift from a third rate political hack; never sought to curry favor by dining with charlatans; and certainly, never danced for the entertainment of his lessers in the media. In her NY Times interview, when Caroline acidly reproached- "you guys should write for a womens’ magazine"- these were words that came from the grave.
In this regard, I vaguely recall an incident where JFK was at some political function in Texas, where someone presented him with a cowboy hat. The crowd and the press urged him to put it on. He would not. Rightly or wrongly, his personal sense of dignity wouldn’t allow him to engage in that bit of political theater. And herein, there’s a message for his daughter. Take the ribbon from your hair, set aside the frilly dress, throw the cute tiara into the East River----and tell those who would exploit you that you have absolutely no intention of becoming America's "little girl at the funeral" Senator.
Stand down, Caroline. Tell the third rate nobody Patterson, that you have no need of his beneficence. Tell the Democrat Party and America that you have no intention of accepting an appointment to the Senate- rather, you intend to contest a Democrat Primary in 2010 and win the New York Senate seat. Tell America that not only do you intend to take up your father’s torch, but also that you intend to blaze your own path; a path untraveled.
You may or may not succeed- but I believe you would earn, and be deserving of, national respect. And beyond that, to those who share a common bond with you, it would do their hearts good to see you spit in Death’s face, and take back that portion of your life that It stole from you so long ago.
I do not share your world views- and I would not vote for you, so certainly, you may hold my advice suspect. But still- don’t allow your legacy to be the little girl at the funeral- be the woman who achieved in her own right- in spite of it.

MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!
The Greatest Gift has already been given us; and within all of us, the Greatest Gift is our's to Give.
"Shall I play for you?"
And most of all, my offering to those lurkers who worship at the altar of secularism, statism, atheism, agnosticism and false idols- I hope that you will humble yourself and understand that there is more in heaven and earth that is ever dreamt of in your imaginings:
